Niedersächsischer Staatspreis für Kathrin Sättele
Kathrin Sätteles handgeschmiedeter Gold- und Silberschmuck überzeugte die Jury durch seine Leichtigkeit, seine kompromisslose und unaufgeregte Modernität, seine zeitlose Eleganz und seine hohe handwerkliche Perfektion. Darüber hinaus zeigt ihr Schmuck großes innovatives Potential. So verzichtet Sättele auf alles Überflüssige, das die federnde Transparenz stören könnte. Bei ihren Colliers werden die einzelnen Kettenglieder ineinander gehängt, auf einen Verschluss wird verzichtet. Auf diese Weise lassen sich ihre Ketten an jeder beliebigen Stelle öffnen, und nichts unterbricht die Konsequenz der gestalterischen Linie. Ornament wird zu Verschluss und umgekehrt.
Kathrin Sättele wurde 1967 in Hildesheim geboren. Sie hat ihr Handwerk in der Hildesheimer Goldschmiedewerkstatt von Reinhard Rischke gelernt. Nach der Gesellenprüfung arbeitete sie dann eine Zeitlang in Hannover und Bremen. 1993 begann sie an der Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst ihr Studium bei den Professoren Arnd Heuer und Werner Bünck. Sie beendete ihr Designstudium 1998 mit dem Diplom. Seither ist sie als Schmuckdesignerin in ihrem Atelier in der Hildesheimer Nordstadt tätig.

| 20.03.2009 | Exhibition: Kathrin Sättele and Erik Urbschat from 09/05 to 09/06/2009 Within the frame of the exhibition series with artists presented in the gallery, we wish to introduce you to the jewellery designer Kathrin Sättele of Hildesheim and the jewellery designer Erik Urbschat of Landsberg.
We are proud to invite you to the Vernissage on Saturday, 9th May, at 6 p.m. and to the Exhibition on Sunday, 10th May, from 11 a.m. Kathrin Sättele and Erik Urbschat will be present on both of these days and will give you an insight into their artistic work. The exhibition will continue until 9th June 2009. We look forward to seeing you there. |

| 22.01.2009 | Die Schmucknomadin Sina Emrich - eine herausragende Schmuck-Künstlerin, die im vergangenen Jahr im Rahmen der Ausstellung DIPLOM - SCHMUCK - FH Trier in der Galerie ausgestellt hat. Seit 2008 hat sie sich mit Rucksack, einer kleinen Auswahl an Goldschmiedewerkzeug und ihrem Mann auf eine für sie abenteuerliche Weltreise begeben. Über ihre künstlerischen Entwicklung und ihre Erlebnisse in fernen Ländern hält sie uns in Dortmund gerne auf dem Laufenden.

| 20.09.2008 | Design Award IF 2008 for Kathrin Sättele The designer Kathrin Sättele has won the sought-after design award iF 2008 (International Form) with her ear jewellery "Ohrflügel" .
The 821 award winners of the iF product design award 2008 were shown at the Hannover Exhibition Grounds from March to August 2008. At all the big exhibitions such as the CeBIT, Hannover Messe, or CeMAT, all visitors were invited to see the exhibition during the normal opening hours free of charge in the dome building of the information centre and in Pavilion 36.
On request, guided tours were provided for groups even outside of the fair trades and exhibitions named above.

| 09.08.2008 | Dear arbiters of good taste, Herewith I would like to invite you to the Manufactum Summer Market in Waltrop. The Summer Market is held open-air on the impressive old pit grounds. Similar to a weekly market, creative people and small manufacturing businesses present their hand-made products. Manufactum also wants to clear their model warehouse and asks the visitors to go treasure hunting. One stand is devoted to the topic of jewellery, represented by us: Birgit Okulla and myself (Gallery for Contemporary Jewellery, Dortmund). Delicious snacks will be provided by the team of brot&butter and the guest-house Lohnhalle. |
